Selfridges The Brass Rail

Hello everyone, today I have another small restaurant review for you.
Last couple of weeks I have been doing some Christmas sales , to be honest near Bond street there are nothing really good to eat ( or I was too busy shopping and not realizing. ) I have been to Smack Deli which has Lobster roll and soup.
I have heard the salted beef sandwiches in Selfridges food hall The Brass Rail is very good and since I was there I had a try.

I ordered half sandwiches as I was going to meet a friend later on for coffee . I have ordered the classic salted beef with English Mustard.  The mustard is very strong and the beef is too salty for my taste. Yes I know it is salted beef but it was just too salty perhars there are no veggie for the sandwiches thats why.

You have a choice of half , regular and large sandwiches and a few choices for the bread . I went for the wholemeal, it is just a normal wholemeal bread nothing special.
I was lucky to order soya milk with my sandwich so it can balance the mustard ..

Personally would go again to try other dish but I doubt I would go back for the sandwich unless you are fan with salty food. The restaurant is very busy thou so I suggest many people do like it  .

Give it a go if you are around there next time , am sure you might find it differently .

Arang - Korean Restaurant Review

Happy New Year Everyone ! I hope you all had a fabulous new year eve celebration and I wish you a prosperous year .

I went to Arang for New Year eve dinner, it is a Korean restaurant near Piccadilly Circus. I have been to hear before and this time I went with some friends and they have ordered a couple of new dishes. One of the dish I would not normally order but it was surprisingly delicious.

I love Korean BBQ , they offer cook it in the kitchen or do it yourself on the table. We have chosen to cook in kitchen as we ordered a lot of dishes. They have a extractor fan so it wont make your clothes smell .

Seafood Pancake - sorry about the photo , we were all excited about the dish. It is very good we all love it .

Spicy pork with Tofu. Not too spicy at all very good with tofu and rice.

Sweet and Sour Pork - especially for my hubby , just in case other food he doesn't like but he loves it all. Still this is his favorite dish of the day.

BBQ sirloin steak - we ordered 2 of these, it is very very tasty

BBQ pork - very yummy too.

A very surprising dish ! Beef tartare with raw egg yolk. Yes this is not something I normally order but it is very very delicious .  I dont feel like I am eating raw beef , it has some kind of chewy feeling as it is cold and also it is sweet with the sauce. Definitely worth to try if you are an adventure food lovers.

Last but not least, I have ordered Ox tail soup . It came with rice . I havent had Ox tail soup for a long time. This is not the best dish in the restaurant as my friend ordered a beef soup and it taste the same. One of my friend ordered a Crab soup and it was so spicy . Apparently the best soup in the house is Spicy Tofu soup , it is much smaller than ours one and it is super spicy.

Table full of delicious dishes and drinks , they also give us oranges at the end. We have also ordered a glass noodle dish but we ate it all before I remember to capture it .

If you like Korean BBQ  , I think this is a good restaurant to try . It is very close to Piccadilly Circus tube station, about 10 mins walk. I would recommend to book in advance as they are always very packed. It is more towards the higher price range restaurant but not too pricy

Restaurant review : Cocoro Japanese Cuisine

My friend and I love Japanese cuisine , she particularly likes ramen. She came back from france for short holiday and told me she is craving for ramen. We pretty much go to Shoryu Ramen every single time when we meet up and I decided to have a change. I was recommended to go to Cocoro and I am so glad we made a change.

I have booked the table for 2 at 12:30pm, it was very crowded but they manged to give us a table, we were seated comfortably throughout the meal.

They have a lot of variety of food. We ended up ordered Bento instead of Ramen. I ordered Salmon and Salmon Roe Bento , my friend ordered Black Cod Bento and Salmon Roll .
Bento Set starts around £10
   Salmon roll £4.00

 Black cod Bento £17.00
Salmon and Salmon Roe Bento £18.00

Every Bento comes with rice, miso soup and fruit. We also ordered mochi ice- cream , they have 6 different flavor, I order matcha and Sesame, the matcha one is so tasty !!

We both enjoy it a lot and definitely worth to try !

Restaurant review : Smack Deli

I have heard a lot of great thing about Lobster and Burger but everytime I go there is packed and need to queue for a long time and ended up going to other places instead. I have heard they open another lobster restaurant in Bond Street, London not long ago so since I was there I went to have a look. Smack Deli opened on 3rd November 2104 by Goodman Restaurant Group.

You can see the lobsters from the window outside.
The restaurant is just minutes away from Bond Street tube station. It has a few people queuing to order and the restaurant is not crowed at all. I went there in the late afternoon which is probably not bad at all. I had lunch with my friends in the afternoon so I could not eat any of the lobster rolls but I decided to order for takeaway so Mr. B can try that too.
I ordered whole lobster and lobster chowder and thought I can make a nice dinner.

Whole Lobster for £10 to takeaway or £12 eat in

Lobster chowder for £4 takeaway or £4.80 eat in

I have used the lobster chowder as base and added some single cream to make it more like a sauce for my spaghetti  . The whole lobster is cracked and chopped in advance so it was so easy to take the meat out. I just put them all together and there you go the more simply / tastiest dinner is ready in minutes. Squeeze the lemon juice on top make it even better.

The lobster has a lot of meat and very juicy, the chowder is very good too. It has some vegetable and lobster meat inside. For the price of it I think is absolutely fantastic. Don't forget the mayo , it tastes better then a normal mayo, it is very creamy and eggy. I am not big fan with mayo but really enjoy the mayo it came with the lobster.

I will definitely try their lobster rolls when I go again next time. I think this is more like a fast food type restaurant rather than a sit down meal but they do have seats .

Restaurant review :JRC - Global Buffet

The other day Mr B and myself went to JRC - Global Buffet (London Ilford) for dinner. There is a car park close by and very cheap for parking. They serve 12 different countries nation food including Japan, Vietnam, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Mongolia, Great Britain. They also have teppanyaki, sushi, dim sum, Brazilian Churascco and Asian roaster as well as pizza and Indian tandoori. Don't forget carvery, seafood, noodle, fruit and salad bars, a deli and a dessert counter.

It costs £15.99 per person not included drinks. You will need to go to the bar to order your drink separately. We ordered coke and I think it costs £1.60 per glass. We ate most oriental food, there are loads of choices.

We booked table in advance to prevent the crowd which I will recommend as when we left the restaurant there are lot of people queuing.

I would recommend if you are looking for variety of food to try or big crowd of friends so everyone will have food suit their taste. Of course if you are looking for high quality of food, you won't be choosing to go this kind of restaurant anyway but saying that I think it is definitely not bad at all for the price and variety of food.
